The sun had already gone down. All the homework had been finished. Email had been checked, and so had all the other social networks. As Anahi sat on her desk chair, absentmindedly spinning on it, she wondered what she could do now. It was around eight at night, so the night was only just beginning. It was, by far, too early to sleep. She sighed and ran her hands through her long red hair. It was the first weekend of the term, and it was still kind of hard getting used to being back in school. Every year it was the same thing. It usually took Anahi at least two weeks to come to terms with the fact that her summer freedom was over. She was used to going wherever she wanted and not having a curfew all throughout summer, every summer. Her mother usually sent her a package to Waverly on the last week of school. It usually had spending money, and a credit card. And as long as she kept away from her mother, she could do whatever the hell she wanted. And that was ok with her, she was used to it. Though it did suck being alone all the time. She had been doing that since Anahi was fourteen. And then it was hard to get used to the rules of school. But she was able to get accustomed to it by the second week. She had to.
Her mom, and the way Anahi spent her summers had a lot to do with her personality. Most people didn’t know that, and they just thought she was a suck up, or that she was too complacent. But the reality of it was that, she felt like she had to. She was used to spending her summers alone. She didn’t want to have to spend the school year alone too. She was willing to do almost anything to have people to hang out with. But at the same time, that didn’t mean she would let them completely in. A lot of people thought they knew her really well. But then didn’t. Most people thought her dad was dead, or that her parents divorced and her dad wanted nothing to do with her. But the truth was that her dad was locked away. And she still admired him. Anahi never told anyone that. And she probably never would. People might think she was crazy if she spoke that out loud. But to her, it was normal. That’s why she started the Black Hand. That’s what she wanted to train for. She wanted to be just like her dad. Even if it got her in trouble. In the end, she wanted to get him out. Help him. Anahi would help him. Or she would die trying.
Anahi got up from her desk chair and walked over to the dorm room’s window. It was a Saturday night, it was early, and Anahi needed to get out. She needed to do something. Anything. As long as she was out of the school for a few hours she would be good. Maybe more than a few hours. As she looked out of her dorm room window, and out onto the dark lawn that surrounded the school, she smiled. She was going out. Anahi would escape for a few hours. She wasn’t even worried about getting caught. It’s not like anyone would be out looking for her. As she thought this, she made her way over to her dresser and picked out her clothes. A large cropped t-shirt and ripped jeans. All she needed now were her heels and makeup. Anahi wasn’t like most girls. She didn’t take forever to get ready. It just took a few minutes, and she was done. It wasn’t that she didn’t care about her appearance. She totally did, but she knew what she wanted to wear, and she knew where to find it. It was simple. And when she didn’t know what to wear, she knew where everything was, and it only took her about fifteen minutes at most.
As soon as she finished getting dressed, Anahi walked over to her window. She hesitated for a moment, and went back to her closet. She took off her heels and put on some sneakers, and put her heels in a bag. It would definitely be easier to scale down from her room while using sneakers. She didn’t want to break a bone. Or worse, her heels. She smiled as this thought crossed her mind. It was a Harry Potter reference. She usually thought of it when she was going to do something, and then changed her mind. And it wasn’t that she had to scale, per se, but she had to jump, and climb down and she could get really hurt while wearing heels. Anahi threw the bag with her heels to the floor, so she wouldn’t make any noise as she climbed down. Looking around her room again, she remembered her purse. She wasn’t going to take it with her, but she was going to take some money and an id. Her fake id, of course. She had gotten it when she was sixteen. One of the then seniors had been making and selling them. And while now she didn’t always need it, she didn’t want anyone knowing her real name. At least no one that would link her back to the school.
Soon, the red head climbed out of her dorm room window and made her way across the ledge, until she found the spot where she could climb down. As soon as she was able to, she climbed down and ran through the shadows to where she had thrown the bag with her heels. She grabbed it and made her way to the gates of the school. There was an old door at the far edge, and thankfully no one watched it. It was hidden, and while a lot of students knew about it, not many people from the staff did. And those who did never paid attention to it. Maybe they remembered their days on Waverly, or maybe they just didn’t want to get involved. Either way, it was good for her. She walked over to it and took her sneakers off and changed into her heels, careful not to step on the grass. Anahi had never been a fan of grass. She liked seeing green when she looked out the window, she just didn’t like the feel of it under her feet. Or hands, nor did she like the smell of cut grass. It made her nauseous. When she had her heels on, she put her sneakers in the bag and left them near the door. She would pick them up when she came back. Or maybe the next day if she didn’t remember when she came back from the club. It sometimes happened. She would forget if she had a good time. It wasn’t a big deal to her. It wasn’t like anyone would find them. And if they did it was doubtful that they would tie them with her.
Anahi quietly made her way to the town. The streets where pretty empty, at least this far out they were. Waverly Academy was only a few blocks from the town, but not many people lived near the school. There were woods on one side of the road, the side where Waverly was located, and on the other side of the road there were a few houses. Most of them were big, and had very big backyards. Anahi looked around her as she walked. It wasn’t completely dark because there were streetlamps, but there were enough shadows to keep her on edge. Since she was a very little girl, Anahi had been terrified of the dark, and had always slept with a nightlight of some sort. Now days, she slept with her cell phone under her pillow. If she ever woke up scared from a nightmare, all she had to do was slip her hand under her pillow and there would be light. She would be safe. That was one of Anahi’s biggest secrets. She wasn’t exactly ashamed of her fear, but she didn’t want people knowing because it could be embarrassing. She didn’t want anyone making fun of her for something she couldn’t control.
A few minutes later, Anahi was already in the town. She instantly felt relieved, and started walking slower. She hadn’t realized that she was walking fast, but when she did, she wasn’t surprised. She didn’t like any type of dark. It was ironic that she was afraid of the dark, because it was the time of the day when she felt best. Anahi was born at night, and maybe that had something to do with her. She tried to recall something her eleventh grade psychology teacher had said to them. It had to do with a person’s biological clock and the time they were born. She couldn’t exactly remember what it was, but she knew it had to do with that. Anyways. She kind of always felt like she was safest at night, but whenever she was alone and it was dark, she got really scared. It was an irrational fear, a phobia. Most times fears could be explained with bad experiences, but she hadn’t had any bad experiences during the dark. At least none that she could remember.
Before she knew what was happening, or where she was going, she was in front of one of her favorite clubs. It was usually the busiest ones; full of the town kids, and the college kids, looking to have some fun during their weekends. It was someplace she could slip in and out unnoticed. Where she could blend in with all the other kids her age. Anahi loved it. And she loved the music they played. They would alternate between techno, hip hop, rock and pop music. So there was always something for everyone. At the moment they had started playing a fast paced hip hop song by someone called Tinnie Tempah, called Pass Out. It was good for dancing. As she walked to the door, she smiled at one of the bouncers. He was the same one that had been there since she started going there. When he saw her, her smiled at her. She was a regular there, and he let her in so she didn’t have to make a line. “Thanks dear” she said to him as she passed him by, and walked in. She had put her cash and her id in her back pocket, so she didn’t have to worry about having a purse on her and someone stealing it.
Anahi walked onto the dance floor and into the mass of people. Everyone was dancing together, it was fun. She started dancing, loosing herself in the rhythm of the song. This was exactly what she needed right now. The feeling of dancing in a group, of not thinking, not talking, just being was very nice. It was relaxing. She slowly lost touch with everything, and just danced. When the song ended, she had a smile on her face. Anahi had spent her summers in Germany, as she grew up, and her cousins loved to dance, and so there was always music around her grandmother’s house. And when she was alone with her mother, music was the only constant thing in her life so she had always been dancing. Next they started playing a DJ Tiesto song. She recognized it from her ipod, but it was one of those songs you heard but never remembered the name of. Mostly it was because it was just music, no one sane on it. And because of this, she only listened to it at parties, or when she needed to get hyped.
Anahi walked to the bar. It was pretty full, but she managed to squeeze herself in. She waved to the bartender, a local whom she only knew as Mike. He saw her and waved. He was a nice guy, in his mid to late twenties. She saw him mouth The usual? to her, and she nodded. Her usual was a vodka drink. She never could remember what it was called. But she had talked to him about it one day. Anahi was the type of girl who didn’t really liked to drink, but since alcohol was what they mostly served, she had to drink something after dancing. She had asked him to put next to nothing of vodka in it so instead of being a cranberry and vodka drink, it was a cranberry with a splash of vodka. She smiled a little as she waited. She remembered the time after she had talked to him about it. He had made her one, and she had instantly noticed the vodka, and she had left the drink at the bar. If she could taste it, she wouldn’t drink it. Mike had told her it would be a problem for her someday because there were a lot of fruity drinks had a lot of alcohol in them. She had shrugged it off at the time, she knew it could happen, but she wasn’t going to be trying drinks at random when she went to clubs.
As she stood waiting, the song ended, and the bar was becoming more crowded. It was nothing out of the ordinary. It happened in every club she had gone to. And she guessed in every club in the world. At least if they had bars. Anahi was startled as someone pushed their way next to her and she bumped into the person that was on her right. She gasped and looked next to her, at the person she had bumped into. Her eyes were wide, and she spoke. “I’m sorry!” she said, speaking over the volume of the music. Or at least trying to.

Draven needed to get out. Not out of his room. Out of the school. It was becoming very overwhelming to be staying in the same four walls, it was nearly suffocating him. Sure, he had had a few possibilities to get out, but he always found himself wrapped up in some other mess. At the moment, it was drama with whom he had believed to be just his friend, Francois. The boy had come out and confessed to liking him, and since then, Draven had kept to himself. He had definitely muddled up anything he had going on with the boy because…he was straight, that’s all there was to it. And he sucked at being a people person. Meaning comforting when it was needed went completely down the drain. He hadn’t been able to reassure the boy that it was okay, he hadn’t been able to make the boy stop crying. It was stressful and it was draining any pleasant energy that Draven might have had left. And when that wasn’t happening, he was either trying to sleep, or he had been hanging out with Anahi. He could consider her his friend now…he guessed. Well…actually, he didn’t really know what to consider Anahi. She had been the first person he had met at the school, and right from the beginning, she had annoyed him. Question after question, telling him what he could and couldn’t do. It got under his skin. But after that meeting, she was actually a bit of a help to him…and slowly caught his interest after a while. The fact that she tried to make sure he was happy or could carry along a conversation with him without making it feel pressured or the words too big or anything. Okay, he really didn’t know how to explain it, but after a while, he started actually wanting to hang out with her. She made him curious. And the fact that she even told him flat out that she didn’t know how to flirt just made it that much easier for him to pretend to teach her how. It didn’t seem to bother her. And neither did closeness. When it came to girls, Draven had a tendency to get a bit close to them even if he wasn’t trying to. And in this case, it got to the point where he could come right up behind her and talk right in her ear, which flustered the hell out of her, which he liked.
But when she still wasn’t quite getting any of his hints, it led to him being confused. Like now. Well…especially now. Draven had worked up the urge to kiss her. Not anything too over the top, but it wasn’t just a small peck either. And Ana – He couldn’t actually pronounce her whole name – had participated, thankfully. Enough to the point where she actually touched him without acting like she was afraid of him recoiling at it. But when it had ended…it had just done that. It ended. She didn’t mention anything, he didn’t say anything, and soon he had had to leave anyway. And that was what puzzled Draven the most. She hadn’t responded much at all. And so his insomnia kicked in worse. Which was where he was finding himself now. How the hell was the boy supposed to sleep with every thing on his mind? He had to get out. He had to relax. He had to do something fun. He couldn’t sit here and work his nerves on overdrive. So he decided tonight he was sneaking out for a night on the town. Which, of course, would include drinking, and probably smoking an entire laced pack of cigs. When he said relax, he meant relax. Pulling on some black jeans and a embellished, dark v-neck shirt, pulling on a biker looking jacket over that, pulling the hood up over his hair. He would use the night to get him by. And as for an I.D., he believed his looks would get him by. By either lying about his age or used for intimidation. Moving for his wallet, he chained it to the back of his jeans, moving out into the hall. He was going to take a downstairs window so he could climb right out. Reaching his destination, he moved to slowly slip out, keeping his hood up and his head down, heading to the wall, moving to scale up it slowly, it taking him just a bit, before slipping over. Not so covert, but he tried. He didn’t know where he was going, but he would find a place soon enough. Taking out a cigarette, he smoked that while walking into town. Quiet night it was, no one being out. Or so it seemed. He walked on until he was stopped at a line, looking up to see it led to a club. Hm. An American club? He had yet to go into one. Maybe he would try it tonight.
Bypassing the line, Draven moved right to the front of the line. Ignoring people complaining, he moved up to the bouncer, and after a bit of finagling, he got by. He already had cigarettes on him, it wouldn’t be that hard to pull off being 21 when he already passed by 18. It made sense for him and seemed to work, so…he would just have to wait until later to buy a drink or two. Walking into the club, Draven was hit with a heat wave, the music blasting through the place, it being pretty crowded but Draven wouldn’t expect anything less. He moved his arms up to let his hood down, shaking his hair out a bit. The party had already started and it was just the way he liked it. Hyped up and loud. And very hot. Maybe a little too hot. Or maybe it was just him. But he was starting to get a little parched. If they let him in the club, they wouldn’t check for I.D. right? He hoped not. Moving to the bar, he frowned as he saw that it was actually quite crowded. Must’ve been that in between time where the dancers were getting parched and the regulars were trying to keep their spots at the bar. He tried to see if he could at least see the bar tender before he was being bumped into, and he stopped, looking to see who hit into him. His eyes were narrow, ready to tell them to watch what they were doing before seeing a familiar head of red hair and instead of a sneer, a slow smirk spread over his face. ”Well, I know you…relax Ana, it was accident.” He laughed a bit, crossing his arms over his chest and looking over her. He was liking the outfit, in all actuality. Though he had left the school to get away from thoughts that had to do with her, maybe things would be different if they were in a different environment. Maybe she would actually have some fun and not be so worried about talking too much. ”What are you doing out here?” He shook his head, though she really could’ve asked him the same thing. Odd coincidence it was seeing her here.[/blockquote]

Anahi had a million excuses about to spill from between her lips, but she relaxed slightly when she saw who the person she had bumped into was. A slow, easy smile spread on her lips as she stared at the familiar form that stood next to her. “Draven! Hey! I didn’t expect to see you here. Are you sure it’s okay?” she almost started to explain herself and decided against it. She just shook her head and looked at him. “I’m dancing! What else?” She spoke, extending her arms a bit and hitting someone who was walking by. She laughed a bit and apologized to the person she had hit. Turning back to Draven she smiled and shrugged. “Oops.” She laughed a bit and raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
She was very surprised to see Draven at the club. She didn’t think she would bump into anyone from Waverly there. Not to mention that it didn’t seem like the type of place he would go to. Most people liked to stay in the school, and those who didn’t went other places. Very few people from Waverly went to that particular club. Not that most of them would be able to get in, of course, but still. She ran a hand through her hair and pushed her bangs from her eyes as she studied him for a moment. Her bangs sometimes bothered her, especially when they got in her eyes, but for the most part she liked them. Anahi took in his appearance and then looked at the bar, and grabbed her drink. For a moment she didn’t really know what to do or what to say.
A new song started playing and she strained to make out what song it was. It was a popular song, at least it had been a year or two ago. She paused for a moment, her mind racing to figure out which song it was, and then it hit her; it was Misery by Maroon Five. She smiled a bit and unconsciously started singing along to it. Not loudly, basically just mouthing the song. Being at the club, and dancing had made her feel soo much better than what she had been feeling lately. She felt really happy and energized. It was something that didn’t happen all the time, mostly she just faked it.
Anahi looked at Draven again and smiled. She didn’t feel shy or apologetic around him at the moment. She wasn’t sure why she usually felt that way, but she was glad that she didn’t right then. Maybe it was because she was soo happy, or maybe it was because they were not in school. Or maybe it was just because he seemed to be in a good mood as well. “So, how long have you been here?” she asked him, trying to make conversation, not really knowing what else to say or do. She bit her lip for a moment, thinking. She didn’t want to feel self conscious around him, at least not right then. She was afraid that feeling self conscious might make her stressed or shy. It was definitely not something she wanted to feel at a club, not when she was feeling so good and happy.

Draven really was surprised to see Anahi in a place as bustling and out of character as this was for her. School was where they all lived, it was the only place he had seen her. It was like her habitat. Seeing her in different surroundings and in a completely different situation was…well, it was different. It was interesting. She seemed like a different person almost. Even if she was a bit jumpy at first, she seemed to be able to relax outside of school walls. It was almost refreshing. He kept the smirk on his face, it turning almost more into a grin as she smiled, though trying to keep control of his facial expressions. He wasn’t supposed to be a smiley nice guy. He wasn’t even really trying to let her know he was almost happy to see her. It was new for him. And hey, she sounded almost excited to see him, too. That was a confidence booster. She didn’t expect to see her. Well, what more could he say besides, ”Yea…me neither.” Meaning he didn’t expect to see her. He could’ve gone with likewise, but that would’ve just sounded weird coming from him, he imagined. He held up his hand a bit as she looked ready for a long string of explanation. ”Yea. Is fine.” He was used to her bumping into him by now, she had done it more than once. His smirk returned, shaking his head, flicking his hair out of his face. ”Is that why you came? Just for dancing?” The school had an auditorium. The school had a martial arts room. Hell, the school had a lot of rooms. And yet it took a club to really let Anahi’s hair down. He learned something new about her all the time. He chuckled as she almost bruised a person with her arm, pulling her closer to him so she was out of the way of everyone. ”Careful. You might take out the eye of someone.” He was just teasing her. She could be a bit clumsy sometimes. His brows raised a bit as she asked him what he was doing here. Well, did he have an answer? Draven wasn’t a total ass, he wasn’t going to tell her he was here because she drove him into more sleepless nights and confusion beyond reasoning. And he didn’t think that the ‘I couldn’t sleep’ excuse was going to work too much longer – he’d used it too many times, no matter how many times it had been true when he had used it. So he just shrugged a bit, ”Was bored at school, decided trying night life in America would not be so bad…night life in Germany was everywhere, shouldn’t be too hard for here…” He looked around a bit. Though the night life in America was a lot more posh. In Germany, it was more like a continual mosh pit with a DJ right up front. A lot darker, not so decorated. Kind of more like a concert. But not. Hard to explain, but it was more hole in the wall, if that made any sense. Though he figured now that him talking about night life just made him sound a bit weird. He made a slow appearing sheepish face, letting his hair cover it. ”Otherwise, just figured tonight would be good for getting out.” He shrugged his shoulders lazily. Watching her for a bit, it slipped his mind that he hadn’t gotten his drink yet, holding up his finger and after a small wait managing to flag down the bartender and just get something simple, in the mood for some pure vodka if he could get his hands on it. After being handed his drink, he took a few sips. Both he and Anahi were quiet, though it wasn’t quite an awkward quiet. Maybe just a hair. Though that little sliver went away when he could faintly hear her singing along with the song that came on. He was liking the carefree Anahi. It suited her more – it fit her red hair. Hearing her question, Draven shook his head, ”Just got her little bit of time ago.” He nodded to himself. Even if his English was bad sometimes, she never minded. He liked that. ”What ‘bout you? When were you here?” Draven listened as the music started to change again, almost looking at Anahi to see if she was going to start singing to this one as well. But then he got a better idea popping into his head. Better for who, he wasn’t sure. But it seemed the right thing to do, being at a club…to dance. And he wasn’t any Fred Astaire, but he couldn’t do wrong with a girl in front of him, at least. He wouldn’t be moving his feet at all, but his hips had no problem doing just that. He looked over at Anahi slowly, downing the rest of his drink and moving a bit, holding out his hand for her. ”Come on…” The thought of asking her didn’t really cross his mind – he didn’t want to give her any opportunity to say no to him. He didn’t even wait for her to take his hand, he grabbed hers instead, pulling her to the dance floor, not so much in the middle, a bit in the shadows. She was a lot better of a dancer than he was, he didn’t want to embarrass her or make himself look bad. He still had a rep, but he was willing to put it on the line if that meant getting to dance with Anahi without anyone from school barging in or people making little judgments. Here, he would probably never see any of the people again so he didn’t give a flying fuck if they judged him or not. Pulling Anahi in front of him, he let his hands move to her waist a bit, deciding not to pull her any closer until she actually realized what was going on. His eyes darkened a bit, just looking over her slowly. Really…he didn’t know what it was. He really didn’t. She was a hell of a lot different than any girl he had met – maybe that was why. But there was nothing wrong with asking a person to dance when they were the best candidate for it. Better than any club skank. He let his hips sway a bit, looking at her, still giving her time for any disagreements but hoping that there wouldn’t be any.[/blockquote]

Anahi studied Draven for a while, not really believing he was there. It seemed odd to see him at a club. At this club, where she went to lose herself. When he spoke she nodded, smiling. She laughed a bit when he said it was fine. With all the times she had bumped into him she wouldn’t be surprised if he thought she liked bumping into him. Not that she didn’t. Well, she didn’t mind bumping into him, at all, but it was him she liked. She just acted like she was sorry. Sometimes it surprised her that she thought that. It was such a girly thing to think, and while she was a girl, obviously, she wasn’t a girly girl. Sure she liked dressing up, and using makeup and painting her nail, but she would much rather be in a t-shirt and jeans. She didn’t like having to put much thought into her clothes, but the thought of what other people might think usually made her put much more effort into it. The only times she didn’t seem to have to put an effort was when she went out to clubs, or where people wouldn’t recognize her.
When Draven asked her why she came, she shrugged. “For dancing, yeah, and to get away.” She smiled at this. It seemed like getting away from a spy school would be hard, and for the most part, it was. Most of the students didn’t realize that the teachers were always keeping tabs on them. They just did it in a way that no one noticed. For the most part they didn’t interfere with student life, unless the students were doing something wrong. “Why are you here? To dance?” at her question, her face turned skeptical. Draven didn’t seem like the dancing type, but she could be wrong. When she almost hit someone, she looked at Draven and laughed. “Oops. It seems like I’m always hitting someone, or something. Or bumping into people. ” She almost rolled her eyes at this, but she refrained. Instead, she winked at him. She wasn’t sure what came over her, and why she did that. Anahi tried not to think about it, to only think about the music. If she didn’t, she would probably go back to being ‘school Anahi’, who was not as much fun.
When Draven told her that he was bored at school and decided to try out nightlife in America she nodded, a smile playing at her lips. “School gets boring at night. And the nightlife in America might not be like the nightlife in Germany, but it isn’t bad. But in Rhode Island… it’s definitely not the best. New York, Miami, and California have the best everything.” Anahi had been everywhere. Well, almost everywhere. She liked traveling, and if someplace seemed fun, she went there. It definitely beat staying with her mom while she worked and ignored Anahi. One of the biggest reasons she liked clubs, besides dancing, was that the music was so loud she couldn’t really think. It meant hours spent where she wouldn’t be thinking. It was comforting. When Draven said he just got there, she nodded again, and looked at her watch when he asked her how long she had been there. She frowned, not remembering what time it had been when she got there. “Uhmm… Four or five songs ago.” She smiled at this, but ended up laughing. When he held out his hand to her, she looked confused, but her took her hand and she went with him. Her eyebrows shot up as they walked on the dance floor. She didn’t know what she was expecting, but it certainly wasn’t this. Anahi stared at him, a stupid smile gracing her face, but she shook her head and started to dance with him. Stepping closer to him, she tried to speak loud enough for him to hear her. “I didn’t think you liked to dance.” As she danced, she let herself start to get lost in the song.

Draven wasn’t really an avid club goer, not even at home. There were times where, yes, he liked to go out, be surrounded by beautiful people having a good time, and get completely wasted so he wouldn’t remember the rest of the night. He couldn’t really think of anyone who didn’t need a good release every once in a while – but going to clubs wasn’t really his everyday thing. Mostly he was a house party guy, and not even that. He wasn’t one of those guys who really hung out with people. He had a few friends he was close to, but even then, the closest they got to hanging out was going into someone’s basement and smoking while maybe jamming on guitars or playing some outdated video games. Draven considered himself to like the simple things. Modern…things didn’t really hold too much of his attention. Except things like Rockband or Guitar Hero, because was the shit on those things. But really, with as many new technology things that were coming out nowadays, he wouldn’t think people would consider that modern anymore. But either way, he was allowed to have his old favorites. It was funny how his brain was working tonight. He hadn’t gotten very much alcohol into his system and already he was tangenting from Clubbing to video games. He decided he would let himself do whatever the hell he wanted to do tonight and he’d see where it got him. Well, whatever he wanted within reason. It wasn’t like if he wanted to walk around naked in town square that the law would let him, and he didn’t feel like returning to Waverly in handcuffs having to explain why he was arrested…or even why he was even gone, having snuck out and all. It made Draven wonder if Anahi had actually signed out like students were supposed to or if she was here on a reckless limb as well. He wanted to think the second…he was really liking this “new” Anahi – new to him, really; at school she was confusing and cryptic – and how she knew how to ‘let her hair down’, so to speak. That was the right expression, right? He hoped so. His English was still rusty as ever.
Waiting for her answer, Draven smirked a bit. ”Get away from what…exactly? School being too hard for you?” That probably wasn’t the case, but it never occurred to Draven that Annika might be over thinking about things like he was. In his mind, she over thought everything, but probably not about the same things he did. She probably didn’t give a second thought about him. He was probably just a good school mate to her. If that’s the way she wanted to play it, then he wasn’t sure where to go from here. He wasn’t exactly one to try and date anyone. He’d done that before and had been screwed over in every possible way. But school was a lot more fun with someone you could flirt around with…he didn’t want to use her or anything, mostly because she seemed to go along with everything, and on some strange level she understood him. He was still getting used to that. And it never hurt to have good looking friends. He blinked out of his train of thought slowly, looking back at her as she asked the same question. ”I think I answered this…I don’ dance for much – not very good – but is fun to come here away from everyone else.” He kept her close as she laughed, and he smirked a bit, just nodding in agreement. ”Must be you’re just clumsy. Or is just tendency to do that in a room with people.” When it was just her and him in a room together, she was pretty good at keeping her space. Unfortunately, he added in his head, before reminding himself that he liked his space. Space was nice. And then, she winked at him. Normally, Draven had no problem keeping his face stoic and his voice silent, but that had really surprised him. His brows rose at her a bit, just kind of looking her face over. She was making him more curious. Instead of playing hard to get, she was making it so she seemed just a little more open to possibilities. God, he loved clubbing now. If it could make Anahi come out of her shell, and bring them possibly a little more closer, he was all for it. Even if it did mean he had to dance. He just hoped she was one of those girls who didn’t comment on if he had two left feet or was off rhythm. He had to have rhythm, he played guitar. ”Doesn’t matter if nightlife is not the best here…take what you have.” Draven pointed that out to her, though it did raise more questions from him. He wasn’t used to having questions. ”So you’ve been to nightlife in all those places or were you just saying that off from other people?” It would surprise him more if he learned she’d actually gone to the nightlife of the places she spoke of. Smirking a bit as she looked at her watch only to give him an answer that wasn’t the time, Draven just shook his head, letting his hair fall into his eyes. ”Could’ve just said not long.” He would’ve liked to laugh along with her, but Draven wasn’t really a laugher. He was a smiler. When he found something funny, it was rare to hear him laugh. Maybe he’d chuckle, or snicker. But he hadn’t had a real gut wrenching laugh in a long time. Most of the time he just smiled to show it amused him. And even then, it was mostly close lipped. It was just how he was. Looking back to gauge Anahi’s reaction, it just looked like she wasn’t sure how to respond. He was just glad she hadn’t protested to coming out with him. It was a club, he was not going to let her get away with not dancing, whether with him or by herself. He had seen her dance before – he wanted to revisit the experience. At least she was smiling. He had something to secretly admire. But really, his secret admiring was getting a bit out of hand. He hadn’t sent her nameless flowers yet, or put little ‘notes in her locker’. But he wouldn’t be spending a lot of time with her if she hadn’t caught his attention at all. Looking over her features, watching her body as it moved, he shook his head slowly, ”Not really like but you do…I wan’ you to have fun.” The music seemed to speak to her, and he found himself getting a little jealous. He wasn’t sure who he was more jealous of though, her or the music. The music because it had a control over her that Draven lacked. After swaying and watching, he couldn’t help but reach his hands out, letting them fall on her hips, bringing her closer to him, moving a hand to bring hers up to his chest, giving her permission to touch or really, dance however she wanted but to include him somehow. He wanted to be included.[/blockquote]
