The joke was on her. Waverly academy was a spy school? How the fuck was something like that even possible? Didn’t the CIA screen the people before just sending out random applications? How did they know that she wouldn’t start working against them or something? How did they even know she would stick with it? Well, she had to…it was pretty expensive tuition-wise…unless that part was a con and they were really paying her. In all reality, that would rock, but that wasn’t the thing. The thing was…she had put her life on the line by signing her name and putting her address down, it was that simple. She could’ve been giving her soul to the devil for all she knew. She had been to plenty of schools before that she had absolutely hated. Being the odd one out in many cases caused for a lot of school transfers. Hell, she hadn’t even met her roommate here yet. Well, she didn’t think. She hadn’t even made a friend yet. It was really sucky. That’s what happened when she tried to be polite. Sometimes it came off as try hard or…too cold. She could really kill the bastard who came up with the saying “First impressions are the most important” or whatever the hell it was – unless he was already dead. Then she’d revive him and kill him again. Because that was one thing about Alex. She just all around sucked at first impressions. This whole ordeal was working her up, and fast. She needed a chance to unwind. And she would get just that. She would figure out a way. She had already unpacked enough to get her by and checked out subzero like any sane person at this school would. But she was feeling slightly suffocated. So she did something crazy. She decided to head outdoors.
Alex was definitely an outdoors girl. Give her a truck bed, a radio that worked, and a star-filled night sky and she was set. What more could anyone expect from a Texan girl? Well, besides a little attitude, and a strange love for spicy foods. But that didn’t matter. At any rate, she was definitely the girl who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, what have you. She loved to lay in the grass on sunny days and if it was raining, she was the one covered in mud running in the puddles. That was another thing her step mom absolutely hated her for. Alex and her father were outside people and Stacy, well, she definitely wasn’t. But Alex didn’t get it. How could someone who willingly took a mud bath be afraid a little dirt? A little nature? So hypocritical. So that meant, of course, that Alex and Carl [her father] hadn’t gone camping in a while since he had gotten married to that blonde bimbo. Because whiny little Stacy always got what she wanted. Whether it was a tanning booth in the back yard, or her own make up nook in their bathroom, Stacy got it. Alex was grateful for this school to at least get her away from that kind of person. She felt like she was living with a Barbie the whole time. God, all this thinking. She really needed to clear her mind. That walk outside was calling to her. She didn’t care how cool it might’ve been outside. It was either…freeze a bit, or o crazy. She’d take freeze a bit. That’s what sweatshirts were for, and Alex was rarely seen without one anyway. Especially here. It was almost like a security thing. A comfort thing. She felt safe while wearing one. Or more…well, she didn’t know how to describe it, she just never…didn’t have one. Okay, she really had to get out of here before her entire brain turned to mush. So she stopped at the door, looked around, and headed outside without another trace.
Heading around back, Alex took in the breeze. The leaves blew on the trees. It was warm, but Alex wasn't about to take her sweatshirt off. It could've been cooler where she was heading. She reached the edge of the woods, looking in to see if it interested her. A walk in the woods by herself...tempting, but not so much today. Equipped with pop rocks in her pocket and a blue Slurpee in her hands, she sucked on her straw slowly, spotting the abandoned barn and deciding to go and check it out. She was pretty sure it could’ve been a place where a murder took place – haunted or something. And odd enough, Alex was kind of into that. Though Alex would never be in a room with a dead body all by herself. No way no how. Walking into the barn slowly, cool air hit her from all sides, that old hay, musky smell hitting her nose, mixed with a tinge of smoke, and she breathed in deeply. It was an odd scent, but she liked it, starting to close the door behind her but stepping a bit further in, looking around. Maybe only two horse stalls and the rest all open space, banisters, and hayloft. Typical barn. It would’ve made a good club or party place or something. After taking a look in every nook and cranny, curious as usual, Alex found her way to the ladder to the hayloft, climbing up slowly to the loft and sitting back against the wall, slurping her Slurpee, and an idea popped into her head. Empty large space. Her scientific brain did the math. Big echoes. Great acoustics. After swallowing, she waited a bit in dead silence, before letting out a high, "Helllllooooo!" letting that echo, smiling to herself. But her craving for noise wasn't filled with that automatically, and, filling her lungs, she moved to let out a high pitched, blood curdling scream, it filling the rafters. Though it sounded freaking insane, Alex wasn't aware that anyone else may have heard it...

Illianne was confused to say the least. When she’d been given the option, juvie or school, she’d been confused. She’d attempted to hack government files, something she’d thought would either be fun, or would get her into some…extreme trouble. And then when they said that she could come here, she’d been more than a bit confused. But now, it made a bit more sense. A school for spies. A school for fucking spies. Of course. Now it made a lot more sense. They didn’t want her against the government, so they wanted her working for them. Pushing her hair back she walked out of the school just to take a walk. Sighing she wanted to take her anger out on something, or someone. Of course she probably wouldn’t take it out on someone, because, well…she didn’t often go around beating the shit outta people, but she would beat her feelings out on inanimate objects. Like trees. Or cars, or windows, or something of a similar thing. Some called it vandalism, others called it anger management. Ill just thought it was fun and stress relief. That was fine with her. She heard a scream from the old barn and frowned as she heard a scream. Maybe someone was getting raped, or killed. Ill wouldn’t usually take any notice, but…well seeing as this was a bit of a fucked up school already, she guessed that it would be more fucked up that something bad was happening, like a blood curdling scream that she’d just heard. Slowly she began to walk to the barn and walked inside slowly. “What the hell is going on in here?” She asked in a normal voice. She wasn’t going to go out of her way to shout anything, but still she would work with it.

It was easy to tell that Alex was easily entertained, even all by herself. She was used to that…being alone. First, she was an only child. Then, she had no friends in elementary school. She had learned how to use up her thick, silent free time in many creative ways. She had gotten pretty good at puzzles. She had enrolled in plenty of sports as a kid. Though the only reason people on her teams liked her was because she was good at what she did. She was good at sports, so naturally they wanted her to win…but they didn’t want to hang out with her after practice or anything. She was used to it. Rejection. She got it a lot from her mother as well. Well, she took it as rejection. Her mother loved her just like a mother should love her daughter, but she didn’t see her mother often enough for it to seem like it. Certain weekends, holidays, her birthday. It was easy for the woman to be nice and want to hang out with her one or two days when she had Alex in her home, but other than that, her mother was off in her own little world. Dating guys to try and keep her happy. It never worked out with any of them. Just like it never worked out with her husband, Alex’s dad, Carl. Though, to Alex, her beautiful mother and her quirky father were a bit of an odd mix to begin with. Whoever paired them together did a hell of a bad job. They got a long for a while, but Alex was under the impression her mother dated and married Carl as a favor to him. She wasn’t after his money like every other bitch out there. Either way, it was a dilemma. And it was things like that that filled Alex’s brain. That was another thing that easily entertained and amused her. Her thoughts. She thanked god that she had a big brain and was smart enough to figure out life’s biggest conundrums or she’d be bored out of her skull. Figuratively and literally.
Alex had stopped making noise after a bit. You could only run your mouth so much before that got boring. She wasn’t even sure what she had planned on accomplishing on this walk outdoors, but if it resulted in her finding a new place to do her homework or maybe napping in the hay, she wouldn’t object. Or maybe she’d stupidly test physics and try to set up a rope swing or something. She would need some rope. Though she would have to be careful who saw her. A girl alone heading to the woods with some rope. Yea, that didn’t look sketchy or anything. Alex rolled her eyes to herself. She didn’t have it bad enough to go and do something like that. Plus she would never take the easy way out. She liked challenges, and everyone knew, life was the biggest challenge there was. Anyone who ended it too early was just a pussy, and she’d say that very loosely. Actually, she’d say a lot of things loosely. She’d made the mistake the other day of correcting one of the foreigners grammar in subzero. Well, excuse her if she had been on autopilot. They had all jumped on her fucking hide. She had apologized, of course…after a while. She didn’t like being corrected herself when she hadn’t realized at first what she had done wrong. Oh well though. Not too much harm done. She just avoided the German like a plague after that. She hadn’t known that both France and America would be defending him. Hell, maybe it was because they were as afraid of him as Alex knew everyone else was. Though, Alex wouldn’t call herself afraid. She swore she wasn’t afraid of anything. She liked being brave…though it was, of course, a lie. But she didn’t ever admit that. Sighing a bit, taking another sip of her slurpee, Alex debated whether or not she should just head back inside. Being outside on this school campus was just as stifling as being inside.
Right as Alex was about to move to the ladder, though, a voice broke through the silence. An inquisitive, swearing voice. Alex liked it already. She grinned a bit, peeking over from the hayloft to see a blonde girl. Well…blonde…woman. Alex would look like she was twelve years old when compared to the girl who just walked in. Looking over her a bit, Alex had to admit that she did love the girl’s style though. Simple and kind of torn up. Awesome. It was like they had the same mindset. Not too much today though, Alex had just kind of thrown something on. But Alex wasn’t going to think this girl was looking for someone to talk to. Maybe her scream had just called someone’s attention. Alex moved to poke her head up a bit, looking at the blonde, letting out a slight, ”Boo!” Whether the girl would be scared or not, Alex wasn’t really looking for that reaction, though it probably would’ve been really funny. Looking at the girl as she now had her attention, Alex shook her head. ”Wow…what are you doin’, stalkin’ me? Sweet.” She laughed a bit. That didn’t really make sense seeing how this was the first time Alex had talked to the girl. She’d seen a glimpse of her at the welcome dinner, but Alex was pretty sure after everyone got the news, they weren’t concerned with who was around them anymore. Alex shrugged it off, moving to extend her short arm out a bit from the hayloft like she could shake the girl’s hand, but it didn’t reach far enough, and she shook her head a bit, taking it back. ”I’m just playin’ around, acoustics and all. You’re welcome to join me. Ladder’s right there.” She pointed to it. She wouldn’t give her name until she knew the girl was planning on staying. That was just how it was.[/blockquote]

Raising her eyebrow at the girl when she said boo, Ill shrugged. “Boo back.” She said as she walked around looking around the barn on the ground floor slowly in a very lazy and bored fashion. Illianne rolled her eyes at the stalking thing. “Sweet? So you enjoy being stalked do you? Wow, Americans are a lot more strange than I thought.” Ill said simply as she walked around, kicking rafters here and there.
Walking around she glanced up at the girl and rolled her eyes again at her saying about the acoustics. “I think I’m fine down here thanks.” She said as she continued to walk around looking here and there. Glancing over to the girl she frowned. “Did you know about this school before you came here? Did you know it was for spies? Or did I just miss the memo?” Ill asked the girl slowly as she sat down on one of the stacks of hay that was scattered around. She was slightly annoyed she hadn’t been told, because she honestly wouldn’t have taken the place if she had known. She didn’t want to work for the government, she wanted to rebel against it.
That was what was going through her head as of now. Pushing her hair back now she sighed and sat there kinda boredly. “Or are you a come back for her next year girl?” Illianne asked slowly. Though she doubted that she’d end up talking to this girl as a friend after this, because in Ill’s eyes, friends were pointless, but for a casual conversation of the right here and right now, it was fine to talk to her about things, because it was something that she did. Talked to people for a while, then bugger off and never speak to them again.

[That’s fine, I’ll work with what I have =)] Normally, Alex was a pretty good people reader. She could tell what they were thinking about her by the looks on their faces or what they said. A lot of people said one thing but wanted to say another, and with certain people, Alex had no problems guessing what that would be. She wasn’t judgmental or labeling people too soon for them to label her, she just kind of hypothesized. Other times, it was easy to tell when people were genuine. First impressions could lie. It really just depended on the person and whether they laid their cards all out on the table or not, if that made any sense. Either she could run into someone friendly who actually meant it, or someone who found her annoying, mean, or otherwise. Or plain stupid. But seeing as how Alex was one of the school’s “geniuses”, she didn’t think that was an option. Sure, everyone at the school was smart. But she came to this school because of her smarts. Not because she knew a million languages. Not because she was a hacker. Not because she knew how to fight. But because she was good with freaking numbers. She had had an almost 4.0 GPA at her other schools. She was the freaky genius kid. And no, she wouldn’t take the freaky out of that label. She was actually quite proud of that part. It only meant she was more unique because she was a bit of a freak. Either way, looking to the girl who just walked in, it was easy to tell in the one simple raised brow that the blonde already found things Alex was saying trivial and ridiculous. Well…if she wanted to play that way, so be it. Alex was game for mostly everything.
The girl didn’t seem to be that much fun. She couldn’t take a simple, easily thrown joke. Well, pardon Alex for having a sense of humor that she couldn’t really turn off in a whim. It wasn’t like Alex was forcing the girl to laugh or anything. Watching as the girl looked around boredly, Alex rolled her eyes. If the girl didn’t want to stay here, she didn’t have to, Alex was fine all by herself. Well…maybe not all by herself. She could find someone who actually wanted to hang out with her…if she…knew someone. No. She was good by herself. She narrowed her brown eyes a bit at the girl. ”It’s called a joke. Ever heard of one? Sarcasm? Does that ring a bell with you? No? Wow.” Alex tsked, continuing. ”I could say a lot for you being strange too. You know…how you talk, for one. And how you think grouping one person into a whole country stereotype automatically makes you assume you know everything about me. Or you know, how you’re kicking a building. What did the wood ever do to you, huh?” It was a bit strange, the blonde girl beating the rafters like they had called her a bitch behind her back or something. Earth to the Brit: A barn couldn’t move. Or talk. Whatever, the fact that she had even just thought about that classified Alex as weird as she knew it. But it was more or less the fact that her imagination never turned off. She shrugged slowly. Why would she want the destructive girl up in the rafters anyway? She’d probably kick the floor away. ”Suit yourself.” As the girl asked Alex a question, she took a sip of her slurpee before answering. ”Nope. None of the new students knew, apparently. That’s how they drag their students in. They tell them after buying them off with other things like a great curriculum or a cool campus, just so they can tell us we’re going to be roped into spying and then under government secrecy we’re not allowed to leave. That’s what I heard anyway, but everyone around her talks.” She watched the girl sit, and that let her know the girl was planning on staying for a bit. ”Well, my last comment kind of answers your question. I’m new. Just like you. Name’s Alex.” She nodded the girl’s way. Actually, Alex’s full name was Alexandra, but she despised her name, so she cut it short. It worked better for her anyway. Alexandra was too girly. Pulling pop rocks out of her pocket, Alex held them up a bit. ”Hey England, you ever have pop rocks before? I have an extra package if you wanted to try some. I don’t normally share but you know…you got here at a good time I guess.” She thought a bit, moving to tuck a fly away behind her ear. ”Who else have you met here? I think I’ve ran into a lot of people. Let me guess…you’re friends with the big German scary guy? You seem to give off the same ‘don’t bug me’ vibe that he does. You two dating?” She smirked a bit, tossing the pop rocks package to the girl’s lap. ”It’s blue raspberry. If you don’t want them, you can toss them back up to me. I don’t waste them.” She was trying to be friendly.[/blockquote]

When she heard the girl go on about the joke, Ill looked around simply. “Bad joke.” She said simply as she continued to look around. Then when the girl pointed out her strangenesses, Illianne just listened and rolled her eyes. “Oh yes, because I haven’t heard that I speak in an odd manner before.” She said as she looked. Then when the girl said about the country stereotype, Ill just smiled. “Yeah well, I never said anything about knowing everything about you, and the stereotype is just easier to understand than understanding people. And the kicking the building, well, all I’m gonna say is, would you prefer me to kick a person?” She asked the slightly odd girl, smiling lightly at what she was saying.
Illianne chuckled lightly. “So that’s how they sold it to others, fun fun fun school filled with good learning and all that jazz.” Ill said shaking her head. “I didn’t get that, but at least now I know they didn’t force everyone here.” Illianne said as she sat there calmly. “So why did they choose you, if you don’t mind me asking, just it seems like they’d give people reasons as to why they’ve been picked to be brought into this place. You know why you’re here?” She asked slowly. She half liked this girl, which was good since if she half liked you it was more than a lot of people who she just didn’t like. The girl had a spunk that Ill enjoyed to see, didn’t just step down from what Ill did. She enjoyed talking to people like that.
When the girl introduced herself, Ill looked at her for a second before smiling lightly. “I’m Ill.” She said then paused for a moment. “Well, Illianne, but people call me Ill.” She said simply. Though Illianne wasn’t too friendly, she still talked and was nice sometimes. It really depended on her mood, since she never really made friends, she just talked to people if she had to. And right now she couldn’t be bothered with the whole walking back to the school to unpack her one bag she had.
She was now being called England. Great. So fun to be called that. “I’ve lived here for six year now, but in England it’s called Space Dust, but yeah I have had it.” She said. “And thanks, I guess, if you don’t usually don’t share.” She listened to Alex who was talking about who else she’d met. “Some shy guy and a dude called Cadence. But no, haven’t seen the big German scary guy. And I don’t date so no we’re not going out.” She couldn’t help but feel slightly happy about the whole having a ‘don’t bug me’ vibe, because in reality, she did feel like that most times. When the packet of space dust landed in her lap, she nodded her thanks to the girl and opened it. “Thanks.” She said as she opened the packet, and dumped the contents onto her tongue. She enjoyed the feeling, it was good and yummy and all that jazz. “So are you one who’s excited about the school, terrified, or already planning an escape? Cos I’m thinking escape route, getting a bike and going around the country avoiding the police and government and all those people. Just gotta find a way out of that.” Ill smiled at the thought as the space dust crackled on her tongue.

Alex knew at times she could be funny…and other times, not so much. She didn’t try to be humorous. Really, when she said she’d been joking, that only meant that she was using sarcasm. And when she had said boo, it was merely something to fill the stuffy air with. But really, she shouldn’t have cared about the girl’s response. She had just met her after all, it really didn’t matter what the girl thought about one small word. So she simply shrugged. ”Ok, fine. Whatever.” She’d see if she could do better next time. Alex looked to the blonde. ”Well, no, I was just saying I could list off strange things about you. Doesn’t mean I actually think that your accent is strange. I rather like it but that’s probably because it’s a whole lot smoother and cooler soundin’ than mine.” She made a face. She was from Texas. She couldn’t stop her drawl from peeking sometimes and even if it annoyed her, it was just something she had to live with. Listening as the girl brought up a good point, Alex nodded, almost impressed. ”Touché. Good play on words there. I like it.” Well, the girl wasn’t dumb, that was for sure. ”I didn’t think you knew all about me, either. I don’t even know everything about me.” Laughing a bit, Alex shook her head. ”While it would be pretty interesting to see a fight this early in the school year, I don’t think that the other person would really like it as much, so nah. Wood’s fine, just don’t break anything. On you or the barn.” Though when Alex noticed a smile break on the girl’s face, she was almost proud of herself. That was an accomplishment, right? Conversing and getting a person to smile? Alex counted it as an accomplishment even if it wasn’t quite normal. Well… she wasn’t quite normal. Smirking a bit, Alex nodded. ”Yea, pretty much. Like an academic amusement park or an educational get away. Because what teen doesn’t want to move to a completely different state from their parents and other family?” She rolled her eyes. She knew she wanted to get away from her family for a while, other people might’ve as well. She lifted a curious brow the girl’s way. ”What do you mean by that? Forced here how?” She moved to open her own pop rocks, pouring some in her mouth while listening. She didn’t care, she was in a snacking mood. Though, as she was asked the next question, she was glad she had something in her mouth to buy her some time while she tried to think of a decent answer. ”Me? Well, um…” She could dress it up a bit, try to make it sound better than it really was. She knew she had a bit of respect/mutual aquaintanceness with this girl already, she didn’t want to completely blow it by admitting she chose the school because of the classes and the academic achievements because she was a complete and utter nerd. But really, after going through her choices…she had nothing else to say. ”I’m, um, actually...a pretty big geek. I had…”outstanding marks” and was about ready to skip a grade because I was already getting scholarship offerings so. I’m kind of…smart.” She shrugged a shoulder. It may not have come off in her everyday, normal conversations, but that was just how it was. ”I’m here because I’m good with numbers, and science especially…kind of a big…forensics nerd.” She looked to the girl to weigh her reaction. It would be interesting. Hearing the girl introduce herself right back, Alex smirked a bit. ”Ill, huh? I like it. It’s pretty sweet. Shortening Illianne to that, I mean. I’ve never heard the name Illianne before. What’s the origin? You named after someone? Or does it have a certain meaning?” She thought she’d share her name circumstance as well. ”Yea, my name’s actually Alexandra…but I’d rather be shot than called that so.” She nodded a bit to herself, before looking to the girl. ”So you just like Ill better? I’ll call you that then.” Rather than England, Alex noted. The girl looked ready to scowl when Alex did that. She actually thought it would be cool to be called by where she came from, but she guessed Ill wouldn’t agree. Her brows raised a bit. ”Space dust? No way! That’s awesome.” She was glad her candy of choice would be appreciated. She couldn’t really have chocolate and ice cream was out of the question, so she stuck to slurpees and pop rocks. Being lactose intolerant sucked ice. She listened a bit, nodding slowly. ”Ah. I see. I don’t really date either. But you know…if you do meet him…I can see you clicking. I mean…I’ve only just walked past him, but that was enough for me.” Alex laughed a bit. The guy looked like he could kill just with his eyes. As she was thanked, Alex shrugged. ”No problem.” Though the next question thrown at her was interesting. Alex moved to lay on her stomach in the rafters, thinking a bit with her chin in her palm. ”Well, excited and to stay was the first idea…depends on how bored I get and who I meet. Your idea sounds good though.” She laughed a bit. Though she didn’t know why the girl was avoiding who she’d be working for. Maybe Alex would learn, but she wouldn’t ask. [/blockquote]

Ill watched the girl as she said about the accent. “Actually I find yours interesting, different. Mine sounds rather stereotypical of what people expect English people to think you know?” Illianne knew that she was usually labelled ‘that English girl’ and was usually asked to say many things to satisfy people on there obsession with her ‘odd’ accent. Usually she gave them the finger or if they were very persistent (and guys) she’d knee them in a particular place that showed them not to mess with her. It usually worked. She listened as the girl spoke about how she didn’t think she was dumb and such, and Ill was slightly happy. People found out quickly that she wouldn’t deal with people thinking she was dumb. Ill then couldn’t help but chuckle when she said about not breaking the barn or herself. “A broken toe never hurt anyone.” She said shrugging.
“I still find it amazing how they kept it a secret if I’m honest.” Ill said. Then when the girl asked about the forced thing, Illianne smiled to herself. She looked over her shoulder at the girl. “Basically…” She said with a light smirk on her face. “They sometimes give you a choice between a rock and a hard place. Mine was here or juvie, and I don’t really look good in jumpsuits.” Ill didn’t want to scare the girl away, but she wouldn’t lie. It’s not fair to lie to people. She smiled and laughed, not in a cruel way, at what the girl said about her being here because she was smart. “Smart is good, gives you leverage over things.” Ill nodded in slight approval, though she didn’t think she’d be friends with this girl, she had respect for her. Smart people were often good to be acquaintances with, at least, you didn’t want them as enemies.
“Uhm, I’m sure my dad told me that it meant shining light in Greek or something like that. I dunno, that was a while ago, like I was ten? So I could be wrong.” Ill shrugged. She knew it definitely meant shining light in Greek, not because she’d looked it up on the internet, but because she often remembered fragments of conversations with her parents. That was one of them, one that she didn’t forget. She’d asked when she was nine, after a boy in school told her she had a really stupid name, her father had replied that the meaning was shining light and it was because she lit up their lives. If he could only see her now. “Well then, I’ll be Ill you’ll be Alex, and we’ll leave it at that.” Illianne shrugged lightly. It was easy enough.
“Ah well maybe if it comes to it I’ll have to challenge authority with him.” She noted, a slightly joking tone, but not really. The truth was that Ill liked to know who was the main person around and she liked to know who she could ally with if she needed to, not that she often did. She preferred going it alone. It was easier that way.
Ill grinned at the girl. “Hmmm well I guess staying could be fun, see how things go for a while.” Illianne shrugged, still thinking about going cross country on the bike. That would be fun to do in her mind.

Alex didn’t think she was anything too special. Short, brunette, kind of nerdy. You could find people like her anywhere, she was sure. Well, not exactly like her – she was a fire cracker. But girls like Illianne appealed more to the eye. Well…guys’ eyes. She was tall, blonde, and pretty even if she looked a bit rough around the edges. Plus, no matter what Illianne said, she definitely had the better accent. Looking at Ill a bit, Alex thought she kind of looked like Kristin Stewart in the face. Only MUCH better as there was at least some expression there. Alex wasn’t a Twilight fan at all, and she wasn’t a Kristin fan either. But it was just what she observed. Alex made a small face. ”I sound just like anyone else from Texas, ‘cept my accent’s a bit more muddled. I dunno why, it just is. And hey, here, your accent is a breath of fresh, foreign air, and people like it a lot better than something they hear everyday. Because anyone can say literally and zebra and have it sound normal, unless they’re British, then it’s like hearing and entirely new word, you know what I’m saying?” Or not. She was rambling again. But she made another funny face as Ill said a broken toe never hurt anyone. ”You have some weird logic then. I’m pretty sure any form of broken bones hurt. I would know from experience.” Being the tomboy she was, Alex had broken, sprained, and shattered plenty of things. And it was really a pity that she was lactose intolerant, because that meant she couldn’t drink milk to “make her bones stronger” or whatever the hell they were supposed to do. Either way, she still seemed to heel pretty quickly, but that didn’t mean it hurt any less. She just shook her head. She’d move on from the subject, if that’s what Illianne wanted to believe. Maybe Illianne was a masochist. ”Yeah, doesn’t make any sense, does it? So many students er…’spies’ getting through the school and graduating. What do they answer when they’re asked what high school they went to? They can’t say ‘oh hey, I went to a school for spies’. We’re probably under some secrecy contract or something. And where the hell do we go after this? Is there a spy college too? Or do they just expect us to fit in with a regular school system again?” Alex shook her head. Waverly was funny to her, but the fact that it left her intrigued was probably the biggest thing keeping her here. Listening as Illianne filled her in, Alex’s eyes widened a bit. ”Juvie? Really? Sweet, what got you on the road to that? And to be honest, though I’m not a fashion expert, obviously…” She looked down at what she was wearing, before continuing, ”I don’t think anyone looks good in jumpsuits.” She had yet to see one that looked sexy when it wasn’t in a music video, at any rate. And even then, they weren’t normal jumpsuits, they were like…pleather. Not normal. She nodded a bit as the girl didn’t seem to completely taken aback that Alex was a genius. ”Yea, I guess. I mean, you don’t see all the smart people never getting anywhere in life. I’m going to be fucking successful, and I’ll be damn proud of it.” She nodded, grinning. That was if this school didn’t get in the way of her plans. Not that she had had many plans. Mainly, before this, she had thought she’d get into the forensics field, do some work to help with crimes and all that. She couldn’t help it – it intrigued her. And she had a very ingenuitive brain, very creative. Which meant she could’ve either been the person solving the case…or the person who committed it. But she preferred to stay grounded. Nodding a bit, Alex swallowed her pop rocks. ”Ah, I see. I mean, if you really wanted to know, we could probably look it up on my phone, but it’s not needed if you don’t want to. So, they just came up with that name out of the blue?” Alex glanced at Ill. Maybe she was too curious sometimes, but it was conversation. Nodding matter-of-factly as Illianne summed it up, Alex laughed. ”Yeah. Perfect.” But her brows raised a bit. ”Challenge authority? Like how?” the girl made it seem like she thought the German owned the school or something. To Alex, though, it appeared quite the contrary. He didn’t seem to want to be there what so ever, but that was just what she could read. She hadn’t stuck around to find out. She didn’t even know his name, she couldn’t think. If she did, she couldn’t remember what it was at this moment. Alex nodded, deciding to try her luck and come down from the rafters. She grabbed her things, moving to crawl down the ladder half way then jump down to the floor, leaning against the ladder and taking another sip of her slurpee. Illianne could see her a bit better now, and Alex could talk face to face now, so maybe it was an improvement? Who knew? She shrugged a bit. ”Well, that and I think it would take just a bit to disappear from the school and NOT leave a trail where they couldn’t track you down and take you back where you would HAVE to go to Juvie where there would be no chance of escaping.” She said it all non-chalantly like it wasn’t too big of a deal, even if to Illianne it might’ve been. ”The upside here is at least there’s things to do. Like I heard there was a swimming pool somewhere on ‘campus’.” She just hadn’t found it yet. She shoved a hand in her pocket, looking at the girl. ”What do you think everyone’s doing now?” She was keeping it moving along.[/blockquote]

“I’ve been asked if I’m Irish before, which isn’t fun, but you know, some people can’t be expected to know about accents I guess.” She said dully as she lazed in the hay. God she couldn’t wait to get out of here. The comment about the zebra made Ill laugh. It was true, they said zebra, and it was completely different. “Aluminium is one of those words too.” She said grinning. “Figure of speech.” Ill said when the girl said a broken toe hurt.
“I think that after we’ve finished school we’d have to do the whole working for the government.” Ill pointed out. “I bet they have twenty different jobs lined up for us that we just have to go in for because of what we’ve learnt.” Ill said shrugging slightly. She didn’t really care for it, she really didn’t want to become a spy, to be honest she didn’t want to do anything, just relax. Illianne smirked when Alex seemed surprised. “Yeah really. I tried to hack the government for some guys who paid me, I was almost done and got caught because I didn’t think about the IP addresses and all that, they found me, asked me why I did it, I told them that I’d done it for money and they offered me here or juvie, I’m not stupid.” She shrugged. Then laughed slightly when the girl said about jump suits. “I think that some girls could pull it off if they accessorised properly and stuff, but I wouldn’t want to.”
Ill smiled at the girl. “Yeah, spy girl turned into a whatever you want to do.” Illianne grinned slightly. That wasn’t what Ill wanted, she didn’t want to do a proper job, she was too lazy, she’d probably end up doing something stupid that would one day end her up in jail. That would be funny really.
Ill shrugged. “I think they did. Wanted me to be different or something.” Illianne glanced up at the roof, she did not like talking about her parents, it made her feel a little upset, and angry at the people who’d killed them. She swore that if she stayed at this school she’d kill the people who killed her parents and fucked her up so badly. That was one thing that she swore, she wouldn’t let them live. “Challenge authority as in…I don’t know if he looks scary show him he’s not the only scary one. I dunno.” Illianne shrugged, she didn’t even know what she was going on about now, she was just talking, her mind was elsewhere.
“That’s true.” She said thinking about it. Maybe after she’d learnt something she’d just disappear. She’d plan it or something. Maybe. “I don’t swim.” Ill said. She didn’t like it, was scared of drowning, she didn’t know why, but she was. “Thinking about what the hell is going on, either that or unpacking.” She said.

Alex laughed a bit. Irish? Really? Alex didn’t hear it. She had heard an Irish accent before. Thick. Muddled. You couldn’t figure out what the hell they were saying. It was like listening to someone who talked through water and slurred their words all the time. Illianne didn’t sound like that. British people, depending on where they were from, sounded a lot more proper than the rest of the world. It was weird. And besides…Illianne didn’t have red hair. That’s really all the popped into Alex’s head when she thought about anything Irish. Green everything. Red hair. Or sometimes really DARK hair. Beer. Thick accents. More beer. And lots of rolling green hills. Unless she was thinking of Scotland. They had accents, too. Ugh, this was annoying. Everyone had accents to everyone else, end of story. She nodded a bit knowingly, ”Yea. I guess most people don’t really pay attention to other people’s voices…well…accents, er…you know what I mean.” Alex waved her hand. If she didn’t make any sense, she really didn’t care. That was the truth. She could completely forget the names for some things on some days, and words could escape her, but she was pretty clear otherwise. Sometimes, she even used hand movements when she couldn’t think of what she was trying to say. Most people understood. She just hoped Illianne did. Alex made an amused face as Illianne said aluminum. She would’ve never guessed a word as funny as that could sound any different, but apparently it did. She just laughed, shaking her head. She had no comments to that. ”Alright, if you say so.” She grinned back. No arguments on her end if she didn’t understand it. That tended to happen though. She either asked a lot of questions, or when she couldn’t think of any more questions, she just got quiet. Nodding slowly, Alex completely agreed. She knew that, maybe with a bit of luck, she could find a way to get into forensics or something in the scientific field if she didn’t want to be a field agent. But odds are she would be a field agent. She was brave, for one. And two, she was small. Easily unseen sometimes. That meant she would be useful if she had to slip into small spaces or get by without being detected. Being small could rock sometimes. But not when she was constantly reminded of it or anything. Like when she couldn’t reach things on shelves or when she couldn’t get into tall cars or anything. It sucked. Alex rolled her eyes. ”Which sucks major ass.” Alex didn’t like feeling like she was being stifled at all. Hopefully they were twenty jobs with different branches so she had a bit more variety. Variety was always good. Alex had a hard time hiding the fact that Illianne’s story impressed her immensely. So impressive, really. Well…not the fact that she had a price. Alex wasn’t that bad where she’d do something for money – then again, she had never been money desperate. She didn’t know Illianne’s situation or if she really needed the money or if she was just doing it because she could. She shook her head. ”Never said you were. Wow. That’s really cool though. So did you just happen upon the knowledge of hacking, like…just a natural at it, or is it something you studied in spare time or something?” Alex tilted her head, looking at the girl, before laughing. ”Pft, I wouldn’t know. I don’t wear jumpsuits, I don’t really accessorize. I just throw together. I think it works though. Maybe you could pull it off though…just not the bright orange.” Maybe more of a khaki for Illianne. But she had no idea, really. Fashion was not her forte. ”Don’t take offense to that, I really don’t know what I’m saying.” She nodded a bit. She didn’t. Laughing a bit, Alex grinned. ”Exactly. Well, hopefully. Listening closely, Alex searched Illianne’s face a bit. The girl didn’t look very happy when the topic of her parents came up. Alex could relate, she really could. Or well…she thought she could, though she had no clue what Illianne had been through. But she did have to make a statement. ”But being different is amazing.” She was preaching Lady Gaga or anything, but she really truly believed it. Four leaf clover instead of the normal three, right? Different was amazing. Alex nodded her head up a bit like she understood. ”Oh, got it. Kind of like a fight of power or something. Okay. Like an awareness type thing. Sweet.” Sweet seemed to be her ultimate summing up word. It was better than something weird like…cool beans. Though, it didn’t seem like it mattered. Illianne seemed to be majorly zoning out. That was fine – Alex did that a lot. But Alex nodded matter-of-factly. ”I know, right? See? Facts are always good to consider.” Her brows lifted a bit. ”Really? Why’s that?” Though she could guess. ”I’m like a fucking dolphin or something when I get in a pool. It would be hard to get me out. I dunno, that was exciting news for me, I guess it’s not for other people.” She had a nice pool back in Texas. But that was just it. It was back in Texas. Not here. She grinned a bit. ”Probably. Did you need to go back for something? I’m thinking of heading back soon.” She shrugged. The barn could get boring after a while, apparently. They really needed a swing in here, she was so sure of it. Maybe she’d talk to someone about it.[/blockquote]

“Yeah I know what you mean, sometimes people just don’t care.” Ill didn’t know what to say, she was just talking now which wasn’t usual for her to be honest, usually she kept quiet and was cruel, but this girl wasn’t too bad. She was pretty nice actually, for people. Illianne wasn’t one to talk for long periods of time, even now it seemed like a long time to be talking to someone. She lay down and pushed her hair back out of her face.
Ill chuckled as she listened to her when she spoke about her reason for being here. “Uhm, a bit of both, a kinda sorta friend but not really a friend gave me a few lessons, then I learnt that and just picked it up, before I hacked for the guys, I hacked my school to get out of a grade or something. So these guys asked me to hack the government for some reason, I don’t even remember why, and I did it for the laughs really.” She admitted. She couldn’t help but laugh properly when Alex said about the bright orange jumpsuits. “I know, I mean it’s not exactly the most flattering colour that was ever created.”
Nodding a little she shrugged. “I still wish I was back in England with my parents and stuff, instead of being here, it’s hard when you’re so different to others you know?” Ill shrugged and stretched out on the hay again. This could be an unwind spot for her in the future. It seemed easier than any of the places that others chilled out in, this could be the place she decided to hang out in more often than not. “Meh kinda I guess.” She said shrugging, pushing her hair back. She thought about what Alex said. “You will never find me in water unless it’s a shower.” Ill said simply. She hated water, hated it with a passion, it was an irrational fear she had. When she asked about going back, Ill shrugged. “I guess I should unpack by bag.” She said as she hauled herself up off the hay and dusting herself off.
