  Sophia walked through the crowded street of town square looking for something to do. Walking what she thought her normal speed she pushed her way through the crowded street. Saying hi to a couple of people as she passed by she smiled. As she fianlly reached the reach the center of the town square she sat down on a bench and started reading. It was a Friday afternoon and Sophia didn't have anything to do but she didn't want to be at home right now even when her step dad was at work and the nanny was there.
As her chocolate brown eyes looked around the crowded town square before lookig down to read. She wished her best friend Chris was here to keep her some company. He was always around to keep her happy and keep her calm. Although no knew her step dad beat her for he alwayys hit her on the stomach or legs. Sighing to herself the wind rustled through her hair making her smile alittle.

Sophia looked up at chris and rolled her playing at him and gave him a soft warm smile. "I was bored, and when I'm bored I read ALOT you know that!"said Sophia softly. Sophia nodded in agreement with him. "Ugh... I know, I was SO bored in my house I had to get away but I have to be home before me step dad comes home. Sophia hated to see what would happen if she came home late, that would probably be more beating then she usually has. Shivering slightly at the thought of it she was happy now that Chris was around, she felt safe around him for he was her best friend and crush.
As Chris asked her what she was doing here alone and by herself she winced as she could hear the anger in his voice. "Please don't hit me, Chris please dont I didn't mean to I was just bored."said Sophia sheilding herself. Sophia prepared for the worse to happen to her. Sophia been hit ever since her mother died so she was quite use to it by now. Although she hoped Chris wouldn't hit her for he never did even when he was angry at her.

Chris nodded understanding that she wanted to be away and out of the house. Chris nodded when she said she had to be home before her step dad gotten home. Chris didn't know why she always had to be home before her step dad gotten home and he also wondered why. "You ok Soph?"[/color] Chris asked her softly as she seen her shiver as she metioned her step dad. Chris's eyes widen as she told him not to hit him and shielded herself. Chris looked at her with worry in his blue eyes. "Hit you, why would I hit you? I would never do that Sophia you know that right?"[/color]Chris asked her softly. "Sophia, what's going on? there's something your not telling me I know there is."[/color]said Chris softly. "You know you can tell me Soph, were best friends."[/color]said Chris softly. Sophia looked at him and shook her head no "NO! I can't Chris, he'll kill me!"said Sophia softly as tears came towards her eyes. Sophia tried to be strong but Chris was getting to her. "I don't want him to hurt you because of me."said Sophia softly. Sophia would hate to see Chris get hurt because of him, she loved him with all her heart. "Chris I'm sorry, but I just can't tell anyone I can't bare if he hurted you!"said Sophia as tears came down her cheeks.
As she streched alittle her shirt came up showing of a brusie that was on her side. "Oh god, I hoped he didn't see that."

[/color] Chris asked her softl.. Chris nodded. b] "Soph don't worry, he won't hurt me."[/b]said Chris softly. Chris nodded and sighed. "Soph I wouldn't mind getting hurt just to protect you"[/color] said Chris softly as he looked into her beautiful eyes and out his hands on her cheeks and wiped her tears away with his thumbs. As she streched Chris noticed a bruise on her side. "Soph did he do this to you, your step dad?"Chris asked her softly. ""That bastard, I'm going to kill him."said Chris angrily as he had anger in his eyes. How could someone hurt a sweet and innocent person like Soph? it didn't make sense to him. ""Don't worry Soph, I'll take care of him I promise."said Chris softly as he hugged her. Chris's eyes widen as she told him not to hit him and shielded herself. Sophia looked at him and shook her head yes when he asked if she was talking about her step dad "Yes I am Chris, but you can't tell a soul!"said Sophia softly as tears came towards her eyes. Sophia looked at him and smiled weakly when he said he'll take care of him.. "Chris no please, let me handle it."said Sophia softly. Sophia couldn't bare if Chris got hurt because of her it'll be like some stabbing her in the heart a million times. "Chris it's sweet that you would get hurt for me, but please don't go near him he's dangerous."said Sophia as tears more tears came down her face.
As Chris asked if he did this to her she nodded. "Yes he did Chris, but he only hits me where no one can see it."
